SCAM posing as HMRC
18th of March, 2020Today we have been notified of a scam. An email linking to a website that appears to be from Gov.UK – giving details of a procedure to claim back a tax refund. This is a scam and if you receive anything like that check the web address – no matter how convincing the page – if the web address is not from HMRC it will be a scam. Turn your computer off as soon as possible if you have opened it, in case there is any malware enclosed. NEVER enter in your personal details. HMRC do not generally email requesting information – even in these weird times.
